Managing the Darkside Masterclass
Enables teams to learn about the ‘dark side’ of personality and behaviours that ‘derail’ success.
Establishing and maintaining quality working relationships is becoming increasingly challenging due to the sheer volume of modern-day pressures: investing in the effectiveness of organisational teams has never been so crucial.
High-performing teams communicate and collaborate with intent and purpose. They know when to ask for help, how to offer support and which behaviours are helpful and unhelpful in achieving results. When it comes to driving progress, a deep awareness of self and others is tantamount.
However, when we are feeling pressure, not considering our impact on others, or just reacting to a situation, we may behave in ways that get in the way of team success. The ‘Managing the Dark-Side’ Masterclass enables a team to learn about the ‘dark side’ of personality and behaviours that ‘derail’ success. It is primarily concerned with helping participants a) develop an understanding of the psychology behind our actions and reactions and b) utilise these insights as a team to agree new strategies and, ultimately, improve their collective efficiency and productivity.
Managing the Darkside Workshop
During the workshop, an Advanced People Strategies (APS) facilitator guides participants through activities and interactive discussions that reflect typical approaches to team problem solving and business challenges. With a key focus on successful collaboration, participants are provided with an overview of their team’s Hogan Development Survey data (Dark-Side tendencies) to explore the impact and risks of under-use as well as overuse. The workshop concludes with building an impactful action plan ready for immediate implementation.
Our objectives are to:
Provide teams with a safe environment to explore team risks and threats to success.
Raise awareness of why the ‘dark sides’ of individual personalities manifest and how to manage behaviour in the interest of the collective.
Empower team members to be proactive and accountable, leading to high quality communication and collaboration.
The 'Managing the Dark-Side' masterclass utilises scientific evidence obtained from completing the Hogan Development Survey (HDS) to delve into the shadows of predicted personality-based derailers, identifying patterns across a team to facilitate reflective and strategic development planning.
